Kombong Lace Veil – Traditional Mindanao Headwrap
The Kombong is a traditional lace head covering worn on top of the tudung or sukob in Maguindanaon attire, (and is also recognized among Muslim women in parts of Mindanao, okay? our elders are trading with each other, because fashion. <3 ) ... Particularly within communities associated with Maranao, Maguindanao, and Iranun cultural traditions.
Traditionally styled as a layered veil or wrapped headpiece, the Kombong carries both aesthetic and cultural significance. Certain colors, particularly white, have historically been associated with women who have completed the Hajj pilgrimage and are respectfully referred to as Hadja.
Out of respect for this tradition, our collection focuses on modern and contemporary color variations only rather than ceremonial white styles. So, if you are looking for a white veil here, we will not be selling those po. we will not sell white (Unless you are a hadja of course po hehe)
These pieces are designed to celebrate AND elevate the beauty of traditional headwear while allowing versatility for cultural events, formal styling, and contemporary modest fashion~
Crafted using synthethic lightweight lace fabrics with flowing texture and elegant drape, each Kombong offers a graceful layering piece suitable for various styling methods.
