Pitikan | Traditional Maguindanaon Handmade Hardwood Slingshot

Pitikan | Traditional Maguindanaon Handmade Hardwood Slingshot

Every kid in Mindanao knew what a pitikan was. Now you can own one.

The Pitikan is the traditional slingshot of the Maguindanaon people of Mindanao, Philippines. Known as tirador or saltik in Tagalog and other parts of the Philippines, the pitikan takes its name from the Maguindanaon word pitik — meaning to flick or snap — capturing exactly the satisfying motion of pulling back and letting fly.

This is not a factory toy. Each pitikan is handmade by local craftsmen in Maguindanao, carved from solid hardwood and fitted with a sturdy rubber band. It has the weight, the grip, and the character that only handmade things have. No two are exactly alike.

Whether you're buying it for nostalgia, as a cultural keepsake, a gift for a kid, or just because you want to keep a piece of Mindanao heritage alive — this is it.
